Databases

Q: Why should I use databases in my research?
A: Because databases are created by experts and provide reliable, accurate, and trustworthy information.
  • Use the Digital Library to access excellent databases provided by LAUSD.
  • Remember to cite your sources. You will find examples and fill-in-the-blank forms for the most commonly used citations in the Files section at the bottom of this page.
For databases that you can use at school or at home 24/7, use:
  • Gale Virtual Reference Library. See librarian for user name and password.
  • Lincoln Library See librarian for user name and password.
  • Los Angeles Public Library databases. You will need a LAPL library card to access the LAPL databases. See Mrs. Buterbaugh for a LAPL library card application.
