Principal's Message
Hello Vista Middle School Students, Parents and Families!
I am honored to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year at Vista Middle School! We are excited to begin another wonderful year with you and your student. It is an exciting year for Vista Middle School, as we are celebrating our 20th anniversary. This is a huge milestone for us, and we look forward to celebrating with you throughout the year, as you are part of the Vaquero family!
As part of the Vaquero family, it is important to me that we create an environment where every student feels safe, happy, healthy and free to be themselves. I believe in promoting a positive school culture that values all of our students and staff for their unique and special gifts. Our goal as a school community is to foster a sense of citizenship and responsibility to each other in a way that allows all students to feel safe. At Vista, we work together to create a welcoming and inclusive school community in which all students feel they have a place to learn, laugh and grow.
We have many wonderful programs at Vista for your student to enjoy as part of their regular school day and beyond that will hopefully make their experience at Vista an enjoyable one. This includes our Magnet programs, a wide variety of art programs such as theater, music, drumline and art, elective programs to expand their skills and talents such as leadership and yearbook, and we add new programs all the time. This year we are starting eSports and graphic arts, for example! We have a variety of clubs, after school programs, field trips, and other extracurricular activities for any interest you might have, but are always excited when students come up with new ideas for a club.
Communication is a vital part of what makes a school community successful, and I encourage parents and families to actively participate in their student’s education, as well as in our school community. We have an active volunteer program, many workshops through our parent center, community events, and will be bringing much more over the coming year. I encourage you to attend our Coffee with the Principal meetings, check for updates on our website and/or social media, and see our parent center newsletter/calendar for workshops and events. Your participation at Vista and in your student’s education is a big part of their success in school, and we look forward to having you here.
I am truly honored and excited to begin my journey as principal of Vista Middle School. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your students over the coming year.
Best wishes for a wonderful 2024-25!
